Saturday, August 30th 2008 through Thursday September 4th, 2008 - members of the Carroll County HazMat Team responded to Lavinia, Tennessee to assist TEMA and the Red Cross with evacuees from the New Orleans area who were evacuated from their homes ahead of hurricane Gustof. Team
members assisted in helping the evacuees arrive, getting the evacuees
settled in and distributing food and water.

On Monday, July 21st 2008, the Carroll County HazMat Team set-up a demonstration to for the US Naval Sea Cadet Corps Program in Lavinia, Tennessee. The recruit training program is for 13-17 year old cadets who are entering the USNSCC and provides basic fundamentals of Navy style boot camp. The cadets viewed the HazMat Team support trailer, decontamination tent, and tactical communications center as well as additional HazMat equipment. The Carroll County HazMat Team puts on a demonstration annually for the US Naval Sea Cadet Corps Program in Lavinia, Tennessee. |

The Carroll County HazMat Team assisted in delivering water to residents in the Cedar Grove and surrounding area when the Cedar Grove Water Utility District experienced a malfunction in the water supply system in the summer of 2008. Team members utilized the HazMat Squad to transport and set-up a water delivery station on Highway 70 near Leach, Tennessee. |

The Carroll County Hazardous Materials Response Team demonstrated our protective suits Tuesday afternoon at the Huntingdon Wal-Mart. Shoppers also could pick up brochures about emergency preparedness, see a demonstration of an emergency kit and have questions answered from Emergency personnel. |
